Open source p.24By holding metal in your hands and concentrating for four
seconds, you can cause it to soften as if it were being heated.
This temporarily reduces the DR of the material by 5 (to a min-
imum of 0). You do not actually heat the metal; the effect comes
from the essence of heat pervading the metal. You must win a
Quick Contest of your Will (plus Talent) vs. the object’s HT-1; the
softening then lasts for as long as you maintain concentration,
to a maximum duration of minutes equal to your margin of vic-
tory. (You may let go of the metal while maintaining the effect.)
Extra effort gives -1 to the object’s resistance per -10 to Will.
