equal, you’re inclined to help them. Anyone who seems to be
weak or in trouble gets +1 to manipulate you (for PCs, this
often means the rolls under Influencing the PCs, p. B359) or
gives you -1 to rolls against Per and Detect Lies, for Empathy,
etc. to divine devious actions on their part.
