Toad-like slugs with sad human faces and long-lashed
eyes. Their skin is either pink, blue, or violet.
H Bite (DEX or STR): 6.
H Choral dirge (WIS): Anyone who hears and fails the
test against this gloomy lament finds their weight in-
crease fourfold until the moon-beasts are quiet again.
This might give disadvantage on relevant tests, cause
a raft to tip off-balance or sink, or cause a character to
become stuck in the wet sand.
4. Tooth of the Sun: When the sun fell from
the sky, its bones were strewn across the land.
Here is one of its golden teeth. A molar, split and
cracked, as big as a cathedral, juts from the sand.
H It lies beyond the protection of the blue-skull
lamps, so reaching it means braving the rag-
wraiths.
H With enough time, effort, and the right tools,
one could chisel some flakes of gold from the
tooth: x100 coins worth.
5. The Fork: If the GM wants to allow the
players a choice of destinations to return to (via
two different bone arches), they can have the
blue-skull lamps split into two lines leading
in different directions. On a crude signpost is
scrawled some indication of the locations each
path leads to.
H If Piccolo is with the party, she may have a
preference and attempt to deceive or bribe her
companions to incline them to her choice.
6. The Maw-Grave: Two shards of a continental
shelf have ground together here, folding down
into a gorge. Sand pours into it. Thanatoliths jut
from its walls like teeth.
H A toppled thanatolith forms a bridge across the
gorge. It is wide enough for wagons to cross, but
has grown increasingly wobbly. The blue-skull
lamps across it have toppled.
H If the party are still being followed by the rag-
wraiths, they disappear for a time, get ahead of
the party, and wait for them on the bridge. The
rag-wraiths make a desperate attempt to stop,
entrap, or bargain with the party to steal the last
vestiges off their beings.
AND.... The Bone Arch: The door back to the he-
roes' home world looks like an arch made from
the ribs of some ancient leviathan. All they need
to do to leave the desert is walk through it.

THE RAG-
WRAITHS
Also known as the pereval, rag-
wraiths are a type of demon native
to this desiccated hell. In their ini-
tial state, they resemble shapeless,
jellyfish-like tangles of saffron rags,
swimming through the air.
The pereval were the only survivors of the
cataclysmic war that destroyed their world,
a group of immortals who could not die and
whose mere existence was corrosive to the
world about them. If once they fought on
the side of Law, Chaos, or Neutrality, they
cannot now remember it.
Left alone in the last fragment of a dead
world, the toll of millennia has abraded
them down to hollow wisps – just rags and
gnawing hunger. They crave visitors, to steal
being from, or an opportunity to flee their
hell into a living world, wherein to assemble
for themselves a new mockery of existence.
