- H Rapier master (DEX or STR ): 8
- Fleet: Opponents have disadvantage on pursuit
- attempts.
- Doom die (): Piccolo has a Doom die, which she
- uses to activate some of her attacks. Each time
- she uses one, roll her Doom. When her Doom die is
- lost, she can no longer use abilities that rely on it,
- and players have advantage on rolls against her.
- Attacks:
- - Ligotti's defence: any missed attack on her
- gives her a riposte targeting WIS and doing 4
- damage. Roll Doom.
- - Metricio's Second Form: Inflict disarm, push, or
- pin down on any successful attack. Resisted with
- DEX. Roll Doom.
- - Calvino's feint: Any attack she misses grants
- her a feint token against that character. She can
- spend it to impose disadvantage on an attack or
- defence against her.

- THE JOURNEY
- Escaping the desert means travelling along
- the line of blue-skull lamps to the bone arch
- that leads back to the player characters'
- world. This takes about a day. As they travel,
- the rag-wraiths pursue the party,
- stealing their being with every attribute test
- they make and becoming gradually more
- substantial and dangerous.
- The GM may use any of the following events
- in whatever order they choose.
- 1. A Long Trek: There is no day and no night.
- Occasionally, a corpse-breath of wind stirs
- the air, or an earth tremor shudders the
- sands.
- H Everyone makes a CON test. Anyone who
- fails stresses an attribute of their choice,
- taking disadvantage on tests using it. This
- lasts until they have had a proper rest (that is,
- when they have left this horrendous world).
- 2. A Field of Thanatoliths: Thanatoliths are
- skyscraper-sized gravestones, each with the
- skeletons of a continent's worth of the dead
- baked into them.
- H Each thanatolith is marked with a great
- spiral and countless lines of text written in
- unknowable alphabets – the names of the
- dead.
- H Where a thanatolith has cracked open, out
- pours a tide of bones. The skeletons aren't
- quite human – three-fingered handsand
- elongated skulls with one eye socket.
- 3. The Selenian Cataract: Here, one of the
- broken moons pours its selenian humours
- into the desert below, creating a sludgy,
- marshy lake. The humours of the lake are
- the colour and consistency of molten lead,
- but are cold and pocked by heavy, gelatinous
- bubbles.
- H A spur of the lake has extended between
- the dunes, flooding the path of the skull-
- lamps.
- H The shores are prickled with scrawny, bare,
- birch-like trees. Their bark is metallic; their
- branches, serpentine. They have become the
- roost of oversized moths.
- H The party has a couple of choices, or may be
- able to come up with alternatives.
- - They might be able to make a raft from
- the trees and cross the lake that way. This
- would be quicker and grants some reprieve
- from the rag-wraiths (which will not go
- over the liquid) but means enduring the
- song of the moon-beasts that wallow in the
- humours.
- - Alternately, they could leave the safety of the
- lamps and take the longer, slower route around
- the lakeshore, where the sands have become a
- violet bog. The rag-wraiths look for an oppor-
- tunity to harry the heroes on the way, attemp-
- ting to tempt them into feats of skill or wit
- (therefore testing their attributes – see below).
- The bog gives disadvantage on defence tests.
