Area 5A – Ball-Gravity Control

A chest-high panel stands in this black room’s center. It has 7 buttons lined in a row, and each button has a number of dots above it. The left-most button has one dot, its neighbor has two, and so on, with the right-most button having seven dots. The button with two dots glows white. A wall-sized window looks into a cubic golden room, which has another window on its opposite side.

The control panel changes direction of the ball-gravity in the training room (area 5B). Imagine the cubic room as a 6-sided die; the die’s faces correspond to the room’s sides.

1: West wall with audience window

2: Floor entry and belt rack (down)

3: South wall with ball portal

4: North wall with ball portal

5: Ceiling with weapon locker (up)

6: East wall with control room window

7: Randomly chosen from 1-6

Pressing the button beneath a certain number of pips lights that button and directs the training room’s ball-gravity toward the corresponding surface. For example, pressing the 1-pip button changes ball-gravity so that it is directed towards the west wall, rather than the floor. Only the ball and those wearing gravity-belts (see area 5B) are affected by ball-gravity, otherwise gravity is directed to the floor. As the ball-gravity changes, PCs looking through the window see the ball slide along the floor to an adjacent wall, or “fall” from the floor to the ceiling.
