The judge may modify the following “Each shows the number zero” if the PCs have scored (see area 5B).
Rows of plush benches face a windowed wall that looks into a cubic golden chamber. Beneath the window are two dark glass plates, side-by-side. Each shows the number zero. A blue-andsilver automaton with hemispherical cup-shaped hands stands in each of the room’s four corners. The robots shout “INTRUDERS!” and attack!
The automatons guard the audience chamber and its secret stash (see below), though the ship’s crew often challenges them to a gravity-ball match (their cup-shaped hands are ideal for the game). During melee, PCs may note that these robots have a switch in a recessed chamber in the left armpit (one Luck check per melee combatant). Flipping a switch disables its robot (mighty deed of arms, DC 15 pick pocket, or AC 18 for those without the previous two options).
Gravity-Ball Robots (4): Init ; Atk cup-bash melee () or blinding flash; AC 12; HD ; hp 17, 14, 13, 10; MV 30’; Act ; SP blinding flash (once per encounter, eye rays blind opponent; DC 14 Reflex save or to attacks for 3 rounds), immune to mental effects, vulnerability (switch in left armpit); SV Fort , Ref , Will ; AL N.
There is a secret door on the north wall (DC 15 Intelligence check) that hides an alcove where the “pot” for the next match’s winnings are kept. This alcove contains 50 Tahlmohlian triangular electrum coins (worth 10 gp each).
