Garden of Ravenous Roses

The largest greenspace in the City is the Garden of Ravenous Roses. The district is eerie and strange. It’s like if Central Park and Alice in Wonderland had a lovechild. Mazes of hedgerows that lead nowhere. Rose bushes with spiraling, sprawling arms reaching out to embrace you. Strange concentric circles of mushrooms. But it’s also peaceful. Quiet. There are no birds or insects. The whole place feels like it's holding its breath.

Sensations:

Too quiet. There are seventeen shades of green: fern, forest, jungle, laurel, lime. The flora is strange and the fauna non-existent. There are fractal patterns almost everywhere. You can hear a yoga class being taught not far from you.

Rumor:

Vampires (or anybody that needs blood to live, really) can actually be vegetarians in the Garden of Ravenous Roses. Just pick a few flowers and eat those instead. Same nutritious blood content.

Special City Action:

• Picnic: You may have a picnic in the terrible garden and invite other adventurers to come with you. In the same way that step 2 (break bread) of the Camp Phase can elicit interesting conversations (p. 189), this is explicitly an opportunity to share your own backstory and say something dramatic about your adventurer. Each person who participates in the picnic must share something unknown about their adventurer.
