The Library Heretical
Dungeon SeedHis Majesty the Worm Β· p.352
Open source p.352Burning books create a heavy smoke that trickles down into the Underworld. The soot of this smoke is scraped and harvested by the ancient and unknowable cyclops librarians, who then painstakingly use it to restore the original uncensored texts. The culmination of their work lines the walls of the Library Heretical. It is said that the librarians do not understand the languages that they write, and are merely replicating the shapes embedded in the psychic residue. Still, as a result of their efforts, the Library Heretical contains a vast wealth of knowledge from every age of the Wide World.

Dusty and dry. A lingering acrid smell of smoke.
Lighting
Jars of dire fireflies hang from chains on the ceiling and provide bright light to most rooms. The jars are regularly tended by the librarians.
