A shallow, muddy bog covered in a layer of Witchbreath, as well as noxious, glittering gas produced by MERGA TOADS, who can be heard belching and flatulating at all hours.

TOAD MOOT

A large, slime-laden lake filled with enormous MERGA TOADS, all of which spend most of their day croaking, burping, and flatulating at each other in a kind of pheromone debate. The croaks and belching create huge plumes of putrid gas obscuring the Croaking Bog in a yellow-green mist, protecting the precious clutches of MERGA TOAD eggs in the Clutch.

  • Unique to the Toad Moot, due to the high gas concentrations, are phlegmy pearls that the critters sometimes cough up when they burp and croak.
  • The pearls are an ingredient in the following Alchemy recipes:
  • Belch Bombs: An incapacitating gas bomb that explodes and affects all characters Close to the target.
  • Ooze Trap: Cover an UNCONSCIOUS target in this to lock them in stasis ooze.
  • There are pearls generated in Toad Moot every day. Search Check to find one, but too much commotion draws the attention of the MERGA TOADS.
  • Old Berga, the largest MERGA TOAD (L6-C Huge) in the Mucklands, dwells in Toad Moot amidst the bones of devoured adventurers. Old Berga is very grumpy and always hungry. Their belly contains an Ancient Treasure Hoard ().

THE CLUTCH

An expanse of fungal stalks growing from the swamp that bear clutches of MERGA TOAD eggs hanging like apples from green and yellow corkscrew branches. The smell, while not as putrid as Toad Moot, is thick and musty. MERGA TOADS lazily lounge and sleep in a kind of trance.

  • One could traverse the Clutch safely if nothing is disturbed, but touching an egg vibrates and hums at just the right frequency to immediately rouse and summon a group of MERGA TOADS.
