Drippy Drop Bridge

Hex 11.18. A great bridge spanning the Drippy Drop River into the city of Dunk. Operated by none other than Shrugga the Stomper, the most massive TROLL in the Mucklands, the bridge enjoys high traffic all year round, and Shrugga never lets a traveler by without paying the toll of Silver •.

It's common knowledge in Eem that if you fail to complete a Troll's Errand, you'll be CURSED with Bad Luck (see Curses table in Core Rulebook).

SHRUGGA THE STOMPER

The highest collecting bridge TROLL (L10-C) in the Drippy Downs. Shrugga is also a bit of an enforcer for the Toll Tellers, as his tusks are the length of broadswords and his meaty fists the size of wagons. But for all his gruffness, Shrugga's bark is worse than his bite and he reserves any real aggression for dastardly knaves.

• Traits: Surly, stickler for rules, loves a good scone.
• Motivation: Protect the Codex, lest TROLL society collapses.

THE VANDALS

Drippy Drop Bridge was recently vandalized by TROLL teenagers. Shrugga the Stomper thinks Grendy Frumbly is behind it. Find the vandals and turn them into the Mayor of Dunk.

• The vandals have a hideout in Trollridge (p382) and were actually paid by a mysterious figure to vandalize the bridge. None of them saw the person's face, but he had a nasally voice.
• Vicerunt Zoot paid the teenagers, knowing that their vandalism would be perceived as the work of Grendy Frumbly.

A BRIDGE TOO FAR

Bridge traffic is slow these days, and Shrugga isn't sure why. He thinks there must be skullduggery at play—and Toll Codex violations, to be sure! But he can't leave his bridge to investigate. Go along the Drippy Drop River (p36), north and south of the bridge, and find out what's happening.

• North of the bridge is a bogril ferryman named Scoot who has set up shop. He charges a pittance to take

sights and sounds

1. Two TROLLS arm wrestle at a bistro table near Drippy Drop Bridge.
2. A boggle feeds some chickens on a green knoll.
3. A shrym traveler painstakingly counts out the toll for Shrugga the Stomper.
4. A hay cart with a lost wheel and an angry driver are being towed out of the road.
5. A kid runs off with a bucket of paint as roaming town GUARD hollers: "Get outta here ya little vandal!"
6. An old woman drops a book on the street, but can't seem to pick it up. people across the river, but with all the business he's getting, he's made a fortune.

• South of the bridge is a boggart tycoon named Mr. Zeen who has built a rickety bridge that merchant wagons are using to travel into and out of Dunk. Zeen is also charging less than Shrugga.
• The folk of Drippy Downs who avoid Shrugga's bridge don't see why they should use it when better options are available. Maybe if Shrugga wasn't so mean and scary and charged less, people would use his bridge more.
• Both Scoot and Mr. Zeen refuse to leave unless given a very good reason to. But they are in clear violation of the Toll Codex. For one, Scoot has placed signs all along the river that haven't been approved by the Toll Tellers. Mr. Zeen has a permit, but his bridge was supposed to be built 6 Hexes north, and the construction is certainly not up to code.
