MAYOR ANCHORBLAZER

The elected leader of Ligerhead Beach as well as the town's activities director. Mayor Anchorblazer is an over-eager boggart who lives for his town, specifically promoting the beautiful beaches to tourists from the mainland.

• Traits: Delusional, reluctant to change, all about the bottom line.
• Motivation: Take care of local businesses and families by maximizing the tourism season. He'll do anything to keep the beaches open and the coins flowing.

CLINT

A loner, hard-nosed, SELKIE fisherman with a checkered past. Clint has a vendetta against LIGER SHARKS for eating his crew, so nowadays, he earns a hard living as a freelance harpooner and captain of his own ship, The Porpoise's Purpose. But Clint spends much of his time locked in his cabin with a bottle of rascal rum and a deck of cards.

• Motivation: Rid Ligerhead Beach of the Rogue and all man-eating sharks.

DOCTOR GRIPPENDWERF

A DWEORG sea scientist who has traveled to the far reaches of the Scalawag Strand to study and catalog the most dangerous beasts in the ocean. Grippendwerf believes the most gargantuan monsters in Eem live beneath the waves and aims to prove it.

• Traits: Analytical, endless enthusiasm, mutters “yup” all the time.
• Motivation: Learn everything there is to know about the local wildlife, especially the Rogue.

1. Three boggart kids paint on the face of a sleeping lifeguard.
2. A SEA GULLIATH swoops in and steals a child's funnel cake.
3. A huge wave destroys the beautiful sand castle that a whalen artist was working on.
4. Beachgoers scream and flee from the water. Moments later, a goblin with a shark fin on his head emerges from the water and cackles.
5. A huge tentacle reaches out of the water and waves, then submerges again.
6. A ball hits a PC in the head, and a team of muscle bound jocks challenge the party to a "friendly" game of beachball.

THE ROGUE SHARK

Ligerhead Beach is in a state of turmoil because of the recent LIGER SHARK attacks, but Mayor Anchorblazer is proceeding as planned with the tourism season kicking into high gear. The Mayor will pay 3 pouches of Gold Coins to put this whole thing to rest and get on with the festivities. Join the good doctor Grippendwerf and local LIGER SHARK hunter, Clint, to catch the beast.

• The Rogue LIGER SHARK (L10-C, Huge) dwells in Dustwall Bay.
• Traveling in Dustwall Bay is perilous until the shark is caught: -2 Travel Checks and any encounters include the Rogue harassing the crew.
• Each passing day that the Rogue isn't defeated, another tourist is gobbled up. If 5 tourists are gobbled, chaos ensues. A mob of locals led by Jill Billke has it out for Mayor Anchorblazer and intend to throw him out to sea.

A group of vacationing teens went down to Ligerhead Cove last night and haven't returned. Their parents fear the worst. Mayor Anchorblazer, always worried about PR, wants you to find the little rats and put an end to the hysteria.
