The tallest peak in the Mucklands, and home to all manner of deadly critters, not least of all are SKROKWINGS, the deadliest birds of prey in Eem. However, SKROKWINGS, being exceedingly large, tend not to occupy the same territories as one another, so at most there will only be a few on Skroknest Mountain at one time. But numerous nests riddle the ascent up the mountain, most of them now inhabited by other nasty things like HARPIES, INKPOT SPIDERS, and even TERRORSAURS.

PULGRUB

A strapping, young bugbear initiate from Boulder Bluff village. Pulgrub is on a quest to complete the trials associated with becoming a true hunter of his village.

  • Traits: Brash, rarin' to go, wet behind the ears.
  • Motivation: Complete the Hunter's Trial and become a full fledged hunter.

THE LONELY HUNTER

Pulgrub the bugbear has embarked alone on his trial to become a full-fledged hunter of Boulder Bluff village, but he has his work cut out for him. He is charged to slay the TERRORSAUR called Firebeak, who has slain many in his village over the years. It is fortuitous that you have arrived, and must be an omen from the gods! Help Pulgrub do the job and you can claim half of Firebeak's hoard.

  • The SKROKWING known as Pitchwing, terror of the The Great Slog, lives at the very top of Skroknest Mountain.
  • A vicious TERRORSAUR lives within the mountain.
  • A tribe of bugbears actually hunts on the mountain despite the immense dangers.
  • Firebeak (TERRORSAUR L6-C) hunts the mountains, killing and feeding more than even Pitchwing. She stalks her prey until they are out in the open and swoops down to strike.
  • The critter roosts atop a rocky spire and recently laid an egg, indistinguishable from a huge rock.
  • If successful, Pulgrub brings the PCs back to Boulder Bluff village to recuperate, celebrate, and divide the Ancient Hoard.
