“The most useful skill is the one you have already mastered.”
Motto: The most useful skill is the one you have already mastered.
Mission
Identify the skills necessary for the different missions of Dungeon, Inc., and recruit candidates that have them. The candidates are often from the ranks of creatures that frequent the Dungeon or (more rarely) former clients. For highly specialized profiles, Recruiting must sometimes search beyond the confines of the Dungeon.
Profiles
Recruiting likes to hire people who are sensitive to the needs of others, but also strong negotiators. In addition, the team insists on having diverse members to maximize their ability to establish a rapport with any candidate, no matter their origin.

Favors (see p.38)
- Thumbs Up: Detect lies. Ex.: “Candidates often lie about their current pay rate. My drink buddy Rhondella slid me some advice on how to catch somebody telling falsehoods.”
- Service: Access another employee's file. Ex.: “Leromo the goatling owes me a service. I'm going to go ask them to let me take a peek at that jerk Chenu's file.”
Secondments
Recruiting rarely relies on external help for its core mission (unless it uses recruitment agencies) but occasionally, a combination of muscle and diplomacy can be useful. And while they have the latter in spades, they often lack the former.
1. Old Grumboldt the dwarf was the only employee in Reconditioning to master explosives, but he recently ended his career in a cave-in. Some clients just showed up in an aerie with a demolitions artificer among them. The hosts are ordered to take her aside and convince her to apply. She'd make a great recruit but...
a. Her lover is the barbarian in the group of clients, and she is very protective of her paramour.
b. She's deaf from so many explosions. Making her a job offer is going to be tricky.
c. She's a psychopath who gets her kicks from blowing up stuff, the larger the better. Let her loose in the Dungeon's basement, and it may have dire consequences.
2. Maintenance is short on staff and Recruitment came up with the bright idea of recruiting an entire tribe of kobold denizens. The negotiation has been successfully concluded by Recruiting, but the tribe now needs escorting to their living quarters in the upper levels of the Dungeon. The PCs are requested to ferry them from their lair to level 36, but...
a. They are rowdy. To most of the tribe, this is the trip of a lifetime: they mess with everything, open every door, make loud noises... Utter chaos.
b. They have strange rites and seem to regularly stop for prayers and auguries. Suddenly, they start to panic. What's happening?
c. Unbeknownst to all, a doppelgänger is hiding amongst the kobolds. Upon arrival, there's one kobold too many...
