| d10 | Objective |
|---|---|
A vital piece of information is kept from the hosts. The supervisor or one of their friends wants to teach them a lesson.
The supervisor wants to reclaim an item for themselves and changes the mission brief to this end.
The hosts are unknowingly sent to test a new aerie concept. The map is inaccurate and for good reason–the hosts are acting as clients.
Following an administrative error, the objectives don't make sense. Nothing matches. It's up to the hosts to make the best success they can out of this mess.
One host receives a secret objective directly from a bigwig. The supervisor must not learn about it, even if this means failing the mission.
The supervisor has made a deal with the clients. They give inaccurate information to the hosts to make sure they fail.
The hosts are given an experimental potion, scroll, or other item as a “special reward.” Field testing it is the real purpose of this mission.
The (surprisingly difficult) mission is secretly recorded. The arcane recordings will be used to show new trainees what not to do.
An artifact must be recovered from the aerie. This extra objective was added by a bigwig who covets the item.
Marketing suddenly wants returning customers. Clients must now be looted but kept alive and allowed to leave.
