quests

CROP DUSTIN'

Not only is the soil infertile, horrible monsters like BOGSNAPS and FUNGHOULS seem to thrive in it. It would take forever to clear out the monsters by hand, not to mention the danger. That's why Farmer Sam paid a pretty penny to refurbish a broken down flying machine to crop dust the blighters. Farmer Sam isn't a pilot, so perhaps you could help. Make sure to hit every square inch.

  • For each Hex of the Forlorn Fields, the pilot makes a Nimbleness Check to fly over and release the pesticides. Farmer Sam's flying machine is unreliable to say the least and Checks to fly it suffer . On a 1–2, the flyer is grounded leaving it vulnerable to attacks from BOGSNAPS or FUNGHOULS.
  • PCs must also make Travel Checks in flight.

THE LOST BOY

A young boggart woman named Mertha walks the withered land of the Forlorn Fields playing a sad tune on a flute. She searches for a trace of her brother Olan who disappeared many years ago. The flute was his. Olan was taken by the Punkin Gang when they were children playing in these very fields, but no one could ever find him, and her family eventually moved away to Capstan. Now Mertha is back and wants to find closure.

  • Olan is a PUNKIN now, corrupted by the weird words of Old King Nack. Almost all of his former identity is lost, twisted and bent, but he retains a soft heart for his sister Mertha if confronted by her or an artifact from their past.
