quests
THE MISSING DANDYHOOF
The Dandyhoof CENTAURS are cheerful people, preferring to spend their time merrymaking, singing or dancing. But their numbers dwindle from constant assaults by HARPIES, ETTINS, and BANDITS. Their songs keep them from losing hope, but now, Sparro the Songbird has gone missing after frolicking on the mountainside. Accompany Mistra Timberhoof on her search through the Dustwall Mountains to find Sparro.
- Sparro went to negotiate with the HARPIES to leave the centaur folk alone. In return, the HARPIES sent Sparro on an errand to Spiderfoot Pass to acquire beautiful jewelry from the SPITHRA Gossamerchants.
- But in Spiderfoot Pass, Sparro was attacked by spiders. Fleeing for his life, he fell into a pit and broke his leg.
- An INKPOT SPIDER (L6-B) named Zwith keeps Sparro as a pet because they enjoy his singing. It's a tenuous relationship.
THE OLD CENTAUR
Agwin Dandyhoof doesn't have long to live, but he wants to die with no regrets, and can't stop thinking of his old friend Pel Duskmane. They were best friends before the great war that felled the forest and split the centaur folk. Deliver this letter to him if you could—Pel Duskmane lives at the edge of Grimly Wood near the Riddle Spinney.
- Pel Duskmane is a gruff, hardened warrior who has grown bitter in the last century. He distrusts outsiders and won't even read Agwin's letter unless the PCs show their mettle in a CENTAUR dance off.
- If he reads the letter, Pel embarks on a pilgrimage to the Dustwall Mountains to see his old friend and would welcome the PCs' company.
THE LOST PILOT
You find a crashed flying machine, clearly of Shrym origin. Searching the wreckage reveals the shrym pilot's badge of Skimmer Shortwise, and a dented box marked for Beezelburf. Something like claws tore into the metal of the flyer, and there are no footprints leading away from the accident.
- HARPIES attacked Skimmer and took him back to their nest. He'll perish within the week if the PCs don't find him.
- The cargo is meant for Odus Radling in Beezelburf. It's a special shrym coal called evercoal used in some sputter technology.
