Zahdikaar ascended to the throne of
Vaadmoor sometime in the second
century AK. Little is known of
Vaadmoor during this time. The
Isolated kingdom high up in the
mountains was considered a place of
death, and few who went there ever
returned. The place spawned
countless rumors and stories of the
undead roaming the wilds and
mountain passes, and of the
Necromancer Kings that ruled the
country, spreading plague and death
as far as they could.
Zahdikaar began his rule as a faithful
cleric of Gorgache, a tradition
followed by many in the royal family.
He also studied under the great
Vaadmooran necromancers of the
time and learned their dark magical
arts. The cult of Gorgache has long

for many miles around. Thereafter, he
became known as the Lich King of
Vaadmoor. Zahdikaar raised legions of
undead, and with them, he conquered
the neighboring kingdom of Uthaan in
235 AK.
After that, he set his sights on the
south. In 289 AK he crossed the pass
of Bruun with his army of undead, led
by his necromancers, and a vanguard
of Darkmire Orcs. The Free City of
Caleon sent its armies to meet
Zahdikaar in the Iron Hills, heroically
delaying the invasion as long as
possible while the people fled toward
the city. The Siege of Caleon lasted 12
years and was finally broken in 301
