What Is a Race?

A “race” is normally a biological
species – human, tiger, elf, Gray alien,
etc. – but you need not limit yourself
to this definition. A race might be a
genetically engineered subspecies, a
particular category of fantastic crea-
ture (for instance, “faerie” or “vam-
pire”), or a specific make or model of
construct (golem, robot, sentient
computer program, etc.). What mat-
ters is that every member of the group
possesses a common set of identifi-
able traits.
